Yesterday I stumbled upon the firefox plugin YSlow. It analyses a website for 13 criteria that Yahoo thinks are reasonable for a fast or a slow loading webpage.
The plugin rates any of this criteria with a mark from A to F and gives a detailed description where the analised website could be optimized.
This tool is certainly not the best loading time profiler on the planet, but it delivers you with a rough but quick breakdown, which can be a good start. Furthermore YSlow integrates nicely with Firebug, which is a nice feature, too!
